Theme: Impressions in Motion
This show is a collaboration between the Buenaventura Art Association and VCC, displayed during the Ventura ArtWalk. Artists and photographers are invited to explore the concept of movement in a two-dimensional format. Submissions can include photography, graphic design, or hand-painted artwork, but all pieces must express motion, whether through blur, repetition, rhythm, gesture, flow, or implied action. We are not looking for still images or stop-action shots but rather works that convey the feeling or illusion of movement. Consider how your composition, technique, and use of visual elements express dynamic energy, transformation, or flow. These qualities will be key in how judges evaluate your submission.

Volunteer Requirement:
All accepted entrants must participate in a shift of at least two hours at the ArtWalk booth for either BAA or VCC on Sept. 26 (setup), Sept. 27 , or Sept. 28 . If you are unable to volunteer in person, we can arrange alternative ways for you to contribute, such as supporting the bake sale, providing financial support, or something else. Submission Limit:
You may submit up to two pieces under the theme "Impressions in Motion."
Submission Process:
Entries must be submitted via Entrythingy.
Size Limit:
Artwork must not exceed 320 square inches (including the frame), i.e., 16" x 20".
Hanging Requirements:
BAA members must have their artwork wired for hanging.
Acceptable Media:
Photography can be matted and framed, printed on aluminum, canvas, or mounted on foam core (1/4 inch thick or less). Other media will be accepted as well, provided they adhere to the size and presentation guidelines.
Judging:
A panel of jurors will review all submissions across all mediums. For more details on the judging process, visit: VCCC Jury Guidelines.
Sales Commission:
All sales will be handled by BAA, with a 70% artist / 30% commission split (going to the respective organization).

Bring-in Instructions:
Accepted artworks should be dropped off at the public parking lot between Blue Agave Restaurant and the Knights of Columbus Hall, next to Mission Park Fountains in downtown Ventura. Enter off Santa Clara Street. The BAA and VCC booths will be set up side-by-side in Mission Park. Additional details will be provided closer to the event.

Additional Info for ArtWalk Hosts:
As a thank you for volunteering, you can bring a bin of your own prints, cards, or unframed originals to sell during your shift. Sales will be processed by BAA, with the standard 70% artist / 30% commission split. Be sure to take your bin with you after your shift.
